KRISS Vector GBB, manufactured by Krytac, is an officially licensed replica of one of the most unusual submachine guns developed in recent years. The weapon uses a "Super V" system, which, coupled with an unconventional delayed recoil system, is designed to reduce perceived recoil and muzzle flip during firing.
The original first generation weapon was developed in 2006 and redesigned in 2007. The second generation was announced during the 2011 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. The difference lies in the lower receiver design, which is designed for easier caliber conversions. This is done via takedown pins that allow for quick changes between 9x19mm, .40S&W and .45 ACP receivers. The Super V system allows the bolt and an inertia block to move into a recess behind the magazine. This theoretically redirects energy downward instead of backward, minimizing recoil and muzzle flip. Another hallmark of this system is that the barrel is on axis with the shooter's shoulder and hand, further reducing recoil.
As with the original weapon, the body, stock and most of the external elements of the replica are injection molded from high-quality fiber-reinforced polymers. The outer barrel, Picatinny rail segments, charging handle and other smaller elements are cast, molded or CNC machined from metal. Both receivers are attached to an aluminum skeleton frame and feature a two-part construction that allows easy access to the interior of the product.
The lower receiver is integrated with the magazine well and the mock recoil reduction system of the original weapon. The space provided by the latter is used to hold the elements of the internal gas mechanisms of the replica.
The integrated handguard allows for customization of the replica thanks to Picatinny rails on the top, bottom and sides. The side rail is removable and can be swapped for the left or right side of the body. This allows users to configure the Vector according to their preferences and/or requirements.
The upper receiver is coupled with a fixed pistol grip, a right-handed folding stock and a single long Picatinny rail. Ambidextrous safety lever and fire mode selector switch are equally suitable for right- and left-handed users. The right-handed folding stock is comfortable to use. The butt plate is offset downwards, which provides sufficient comfort when aiming down the sights in such a compact design.
The heart of the replica is a custom GBB mechanism with a lightweight bolt assembly that produces about 1.0 joule with the 0.20g BBs. The replica fires in semi-automatic mode. The safety levers and selectors are located on either side of the body, making it a good choice for ambidextrous users. The outer barrel holds the 120mm long inner barrel.
KRISS Vector implements a robust gas blowback system that mimics recoil and mechanical action when firing. It provides an exceptional and realistic user experience, like firing an authentic weapon. The use of lightweight elements results in a faster rate of fire and improved gas efficiency.
Thanks to its compact size and optimal performance, KRISS Vector GBB is the perfect choice for players looking for a replica for CQB, close and medium range combat in arenas or on fields with a futuristic flair and unusual appearance.
