The G&G FAR 9 with ETU features a very high-quality RIS system made of fiber-reinforced plastic and is the ideal airsoft gun for beginners and, of course, experienced airsofters alike. The materials and workmanship are, as is typical of G&G, excellent, and the body can certainly withstand more than a die-cast zinc model from China. With the new trigger technology, G&G is taking another step in the right direction, moving away from old-fashioned shackles toward modern airsoft models that guarantee high rates of fire and durability.

The FAR 9 also features the new Generation 2 MIG gearbox with a quick-change spring system. The stock and handguard can be folded without any additional tools (patented by G&G). To do this, the stock is released at the push of a button (located on the housing), and can then be folded. The handguard has a latch with a pull cord. By pulling this latch, the handguard can also be folded, creating the incredibly compact G&G FAR 9 Airsoft, which is easy to carry.
